Simple, right?

Race against your device or your friends to build up a high-scoring crossword. Re-arrange your letters whenever you like and use up all your letters to force everyone to take more. Anyone with letters remaining at the end of the game gets penalised by the sum total of their values.

But wait!

Letters enjoy two things:

sitting around in a comfortable box;
joining other letters to make a word.

What they're not too keen on is sitting around on your rack (no offense and all). Leave letters there for too long and they'll perish! So you're going to just stick them anywhere on the board, right? Careful! Letters that aren't part of valid words will have to be removed at the end of the game and will add to your penalty!
