gMote 2

It's coming... believe me, eventually it will arrive! I'm afraid that for now I won't be paying too much attention to fixing up any 1.* versions, but I hope to have all your requests covered in this next version, which is a complete rewrite.

Here's a totally non-professional development screenshot, complete with strange window titles and other oddness, but hopefully enough to convey the general idea...

first of all, thanks for this great software I'ld like to report a minor bug in the version I have: If you switch monitor configuration (turn on additional one as for example) w/o unloading program, it stops to function and says 'wrong monitor handler'
AndrewMonday 7th December 2009 @ pm
Excellent! :)
Gary KellyTuesday 15th December 2009 @ pm
Love your program (which I just discovered). Probably been suggested before, but you could add a 'favourites' option where a list of 2 to 10 programs/urls could pop up for user choice.

Thanks for the new release under development! I hope it will be available also as portable software, to use it from any usb key!

thank you so much. i recently have been switching my brain/life over to full-time mac, but i still use ole familiar xp in virtual environments and on my other partition when i feel nostalgic / need to. i got so used to using firegestures in firefox and, as many have also said in other places, would get to browsing so long / comfortably that i'd automatically expect my explorer windows to behave according to gestures as well. so this is just a dream come true! one development comment: is there any way to change the size of the gesture trail? i can see it's possible to turn it off or change the colour, but if there's a way to just make it thinner that would be great (even if it's a regedit or something similar). thanks for this wonderful app!

to the people who say it stops working, in my config (win 7 x64) when adding a second monitor (or removing it) mine doesn't throw a message but just doesn't work. i just restart it, but it would be cool if this were fixed in the next version!

Is it possible to include Plam Graffiti as pre-defined gesture in gMote 2?
Emmanuel MahuniMonday 25th January 2010 @ pm
Your software rocks tell you what? make a deal with Microsoft to intergrate it with windows. It's so cool dude... everyone should use it in windows. It defines Windows totally... :-)
CraigTuesday 26th January 2010 @ pm
Wow, my head is getting bigger! I'm sorry for the various 64-bit and multi-monitor issues, but I hope to fix them with the rewrite... All your suggestions are noted, and checking this page is the last thing I'll do before the next release!
CartholThursday 28th January 2010 @ pm
Great software, most reliable software for gestures I've used so far. Got a separate place you want us to post bugs? (As I'm sure you've heard of any I've seen before, no need to clog up your blog) ...but anyway, might as well...when switching monitors with gmote minimized to the notification bar it generates an error on next use, just opening it from the task bar seems to solve. Also, I see no mention of testing on Win 7? Done any of this for 1.4? Planing to for 2.0?

Just another request: Plz add some function to allow the keystrokes to be applied with pause/wait of some time in consecutive keystrokes as they are executed very fast and os lags behind rendering the stroke useless.

Wow! I'm so thankful for gMote 1.4, it's a great piece of program and it's really hard for me using a PC without it. (A portable-version would be cool ^^) I'm really curious about version 2, I hope it's arriving soon =) It would be cool, if it's working a bit faster than 1.4. Version 1.4 kinda lags a little bit. I think you'll do a great job =) Keep up your nice work! Thank you for gMote =)

peterTuesday 16th March 2010 @ pm
Any news about new version?
CheeseyThursday 18th March 2010 @ am
Nothing to do with gMote 2.0, but I'm not able to use the RSS-Feed on the Blog. It might be broken, or it's just not working for me, anyone here has the same issues? When I click on the RSS-Feed-Button it just displays a weird site... :/
darrkzunFriday 19th March 2010 @ pm
Hi Craig and thanks for gMote. Been using 1.4 for quite awhile now and I honestly feel held back if I use another's comp that doesn't have it. Looking forward to the release of 2.0! Keep up the great work.
weimingMonday 22nd March 2010 @ pm
Hi, first, just like to thank you for gMote. Second, wonder if I can make a suggestion? Is it possible to enable the next version to recognise gestures without holding down any buttons at all? I'm also using Magic Formation and although the mouse gesture (clockwise and anticlockwise circles) are simple, a simple flick of the mouse without the need to hold down any buttons just seem less troublesome. Thanks for listening!

Apparently I don't check here very often but great news about the forthcoming V2! I use gMote on my Win 7 64bit machine and it works like a charm, so looking forward to any new features!
alexFriday 9th April 2010 @ pm
Craig, your amazing. gMote is so useful and I can't wait for the next version to come out. I have 64-bit Vista so there are some bugs when I want gMote to switch off for SolidWorks but I'm still using it. Really looking forward to the fix! TY TY TY!
alexFriday 9th April 2010 @ pm
*correction* sorry, that was 64-bit windows 7 in the last post.
SteinWednesday 21st April 2010 @ am
WOW! I was so sure that U had completely abandoned this program as there have been no update in over a year. Went back today, like "just in case" and saw this wonderful news! Great! I can't wait! You are doing some really good work here man, thank you so much! Im using a tablet, so this program is really great for me, thank you!
NervEasyMonday 26th April 2010 @ am
Reaaaaaly looking forward to this release! I wouldn't mind being a beta tester. Running 64bit Win7 with the 1.41 release with some dual screen issues but i'm loving it.
EricThursday 29th April 2010 @ am
Running gMote 1.41 in Windows 7 64-bit and it intermittently stops working. With and without admin privileges. Even after taking ownership with full rights of the folder. Looking forward to enhanced functionality and compatibility.
EricThursday 29th April 2010 @ am
Should also say the various compatibility modes don't help either (XP, Vista, etc).
ElenaMonday 3rd May 2010 @ pm
Hi Craig Do you have maybe any news about working version for Windows 7? Do you need any donation for motivation? Namaste Elena
shanThursday 3rd June 2010 @ pm
better support middle click button, and other button i hope you can release a beta ver for us to help to improve the program thk for your app anyway
EricThursday 10th June 2010 @ pm
In Win 7 x64, I Have it running pretty reliably under Vista (Service Pack 2) compatibility mode, as long as IE is never opened. We use Opera and Chrome so that isn't a problem but if IE is launched it seems to break gMote.
ReinhardTuesday 6th July 2010 @ am
Hi Craig, everybody, this is so great news. I just started looking at alternatives because of several minor Win 7 64bit glitches (e.g. stops working after some standby/resumes, little issues w/ timeout/right mouse key context menus in apps not working as they should etc.). Everyboby: Just submitting flattering comments to Craig is only half way - donate! (I've done twice already because I like this app so much!)
WilliamFriday 9th July 2010 @ am
Hi Craig, how is the progress? Is it possible to release a test version for us to use? thx
RussiaThursday 15th July 2010 @ am
Россия тоже ждёт! :) С нетерпением!
CraigFriday 16th July 2010 @ am
Thanks Reinhard! Eric that's interesting about IE. I never realised that... I should really give this site a makeover, or at least use a blogging system that will send me mails when you guys comment on these pages...
shanSunday 8th August 2010 @ am
i hope it will release before diablo 3...

mnologyTuesday 7th September 2010 @ am
Wonderful program! Though I would like to set the "start gesture" button to a left click(button 1). Would really help out with finger & stylus flicks on tablets. Keep it up!!!
EricThursday 9th September 2010 @ am
