gMote 1.20

I've had time to implement many suggestions, including gestures with the middle mouse button, disabling gesture trails, launching folders, using the Windows key for key combinations associated with gestures etc., but most of my time was spent on the Chinese translation, with help from cool8jay (thanks!). Suggestions from 中人are most welcome, but support can only be provided in English =).

Go get it!

So the next thing I guess is per-application gestures... bear with me!

gMote1.2: Excluded programs can't work with my firefox 3.beta5.... sad
CraigTuesday 15th April 2008 @ am
Ben - I spotted this bug just a few minutes after uploading 1.2 to the website! I fixed it a few minutes later and hoped that nobody had downloaded it in the meantime! Try to download it again and it should be OK. As for Firefox 3, I have the beta and it seemed to work for me... did you add it to the list by browing for it or from the "recently used" box?
BenTuesday 15th April 2008 @ am
I download gMote again, and remove my old updates.ini gmote.ini MouseCore.dll in gMote's floder, then load my bakup mtd files,"Excluded programs" work fine.... Unfortunately,gMote also led me to upgrade...

The new version 1.2 isn't usable on one of my computers. The trail is drawn in slow motion, no difference if I activate the "fast" drawing option or not. Had to go back to 1.1 which is working without problems, but now the update reminders nag a little bit :-) I'm using Windows Vista (Ultimate) with nVidia graphic adapter.

I think this might be one last remaining Unicode-problem. Does the path name contain any Chinese characters? I've made another tweak, so try downloading again =)
CraigTuesday 15th April 2008 @ pm
Gee - oops! OK should be better now, released a minor update to fix that issue. Thanks!
BenTuesday 15th April 2008 @ pm

Dear Craig, the donate Button is working ;-). Hope everybody will give you some $ for your great work.... - I tested 1.21 with vista - ist not working rightly - the geatures are very very slow - so you can't use gmote. Greetings Toddy

Sorry Craig - It's working - perfectly - I forget to use Fast trails... ;-) Greetings Toddy ;-)

You did a greate job, and I readly like it. but there's a problem in my OS, after I choose the option "always run startup", sometimes when I was logining to destop it popup a dialog with a error information that: "Exception EReadError in module gmote.exe at 0002015B. Error reading trayicon.Visible: Cannot create shell notification icon". this just happen at the start-time. and I'm sure the mtd file's folder doesn't contain unicode-characters, I use a Simple Chinese language Evironment.hope you'll fix it later. Good luck!

Hi solon, I've not seen that error before. What version of windows are you using, and are there many other icons in that bottom-right corner of the task bar? Using any special extensions or skinning programs?
tigerSaturday 19th April 2008 @ am
Great! It works fine under win2003 sp2,and the Chinese translation is OK.Please keep working on it.
solonSunday 20th April 2008 @ am
Hi Craig, thatnks for replying. my window version is winxp sp2, you say :"special extensions or skinning programs" such as windowsblind, stylerxp? I don't have that. Er, I used a system icon replace package named "Super Turbo Tango Patcher", does this the problem is ?
CraigSunday 20th April 2008 @ am
I've looked for this error on the Internet and it seems to affect a lot of programs, and has something to do with the startup sequence. Perhaps something else that runs before gMote is interfering. Try this: don't tick "always run at startup" - instead, add a shortcut to gMote.exe in the Startup folder of your Start menu.

Awesome app Craig, can't wait for the per-application rules, this is really starting to shape up as a true replacement for StrokeIt

Cheers Doug!

Simply the best! I used other similar programs but this is the best. Very useful and simply to use. GREAT!

Thanks a lot Andrew =).

feedback: great software!! thank you very much. It seems not supporting multi-screen very well (the 2nd one). It will be good if you can make the icon in sys tray a different look while it is disactivated, like gray colored.
heybu80Monday 26th May 2008 @ pm
also, maybe it is bad idea: you can allow a new type of stroke instead of a singular continuous stroke - within a certain time(like 1 second) you can use two or three strokes to make a command, which might helps to increase the flexiblity and amount of the mouse strokes. The Chinese is good,i don't have problem.

Great work Craig! I've started using this after StrokeIt stopped liking Vista and I have to say it's probably even more flexible. Constructive feedback from me would be: *For an unknown reason gMote states something to the effect of 'this version of gMote is not the default version, do you want to make it the default' every time I start windows. Without fail, regardless of whether I choose yes or no it does the same next start. *Something to do with my startup I guess, but it fails to connect to http://www.handform.net each time windows starts, and I presume this is because gMote is trying to update before my wireless card turns on. Is there a way to stop it looking for updates? *Just for fun, can we have an option for chunky lines? ;) Thanks again, I'll keep my eye out for updates and tell my friends!

I think this would be quite a nice program, if it would work. When I activate it, the program locks up within 20 seconds. Stopping the process from within the tsk manager is the only thing left. Start it up again and it shows the same behavior

im use 120 dpi und gMote look bad. This http://photofile.ru/photo/c4denn/95137566/99127725.gif I wish to look gesture as: "hold right button > click left button". Like Opera.
